How to get integrated ES 1887 sound working?

Hi,

I am brand new to Linux and
I have just installed Puppy Linux 1.0.7 and it doesn't recognize my integrated sound. I have a Compaq Presario 4860 with an ESS Technology Audio Drive - specifically ES1887.

Can anyone help me with getting Puppy to load my sound card?

Once you have tested it and know it works, you can add this command to the bootscript /root/.etc/rc.d/rc.local
