dpup-482beta testing
@dejan555
it is not just your imagination numlock is automatically set to ON. Now with my laptop with no number pad I have to turn it off after every boot. I guess fair is fair.
UNLESS... the great and masterful gposil is able to add a check box to his beautiful start-up setting script that allows us to set it how we would like it to boot in the future

OH, thanks, I haven't done much on it lately, there are some issues with server where I put content and I'm also a bit lazy

Errr, sorry if this has been mentioned but beta 3 doesn't load sfs's for me, I put'em in /mnt/home, convert to sfs4, they are named *_482.sfs and I see them in bootconfig dialog, and I leave config to load all with _482 in filename, I rebooted like 10 times but nothing.

The converted sfs file will end with *_482.sfs4. Recheck to make sure the sfs4 files are actually placed in /mnt/home and don't select any converted sfs file that doesn't end in 4.dejan555 wrote:Errr, sorry if this has been mentioned but beta 3 doesn't load sfs's for me, I put'em in /mnt/home, convert to sfs4, they are named *_482.sfs and I see them in bootconfig dialog, and I leave config to load all with _482 in filename, I rebooted like 10 times but nothing. I did.
Like I said they do have _482 in filename, and yes they are placed in /mnt/home I even made one while I was on livecd using dir2sfs so it can't be incompatible with dpup. I even edited /etc/rc.d/BOOTCONFIG manually, and when I rebooted it said usual "Updating Layered Filesystem" but didn't load them anyway.

I just downloaded and did a frugal install of 482 beta3 and two things hit me right off.
I have a screen resolution of 1280x1024. That is ok.
The initial first boot settings window that pops up is ok.
But...
Both the locale and timezone windows, even though they have a vertical scroll bar, seem to be very long.
That is to say that the top of the windows is at the top of my screen and the bottom is off the bottom of my screen.
So considering they both have a vertical scroll bar, do they really need to be that tall?

Dropped after a half hour.
Here's the log file.
My EEE doesn't seem to have the prob.

firefox on Aspire one
I am using dpup 482beta3 on aspire one. firefox colors get very violet and blink continuously at full width of the screen. If I reduce width at least 20% color returns to normal and blinking stops. I am guessing my browser window is about 800x600 at this point. I would certainly prefer to use all of this tiny screen so any suggestions would be most welcome.
I also tried retro and had the same issue, but did not figure out workable option until today.
thanks for any ideas.

additional information
It seems that nothing works full size. I tried "opera" "abiword" and "gnumeric". They all get different color and blinking when full width of screen. They all look OK when reduced width.
If this is true for other netbooks, it seems like a serious problem.

PPlog is fixed in next release, the only problem with it, is the folder and file permissions for the /root/Web-Server folder. Just change the permissions to 755 or 777 and hey-presto, it works...

Yes I reported hiawatha issue several times in dpup thread and 4.3 bugs thread seems it's issue in all woof builds, like you said changing permissions doesn't work. Changing to any folder other then server root displays forbidden code. And also if I load xampp sfs apache won't work either. Something is really messed up with server configuration, I was wondering why there's webuser, isn't "nobody" default for connections to server from outside? Anyway I don't think hiawatha works correctly in any puppy above 4.2.1

Try this update which fixed next release...see screenshot...and yes webuser is the correct username for hiawatha.
