In answer to your two points, please do look at xerrs.log next time the video problem occurs, I have the same video chipset in my compaq c600 laptop and have had it running for days...so the x log would be important for me to track down the problem...

On Synaptic, yes we can symlink for frugal, but I stll haven't finished patch with dpkg database updates for dpup as opposed to Debian Lenny....should have it finished in a day or so, as I have said before this a long manual task, but it only has to be done once and then Synaptic can update itself...Sorry there's only one of me.. Smile

Tried downloading beta3 twice with errors

The md5sum worked fine for me... unless it's been changed since Sunday...

Gposil is very specific about the download technique.

try running this from terminal.

Hi at all

just to point out that the Intel Pro 2200BG wireless card is detected regularly but can not communicate with the AP this on two different laptops asus a6series and Toshiba a3series i still use the last beta3 of dpup (it's fantastic!!!) i tried in auto and manual setup of wifi card.
with puppy 4.3.1 wifi is ok!!

I'm running 482 from a live CD. Not installed as of yet.
It seems to run quicker than previous pups, so that's a plus.

The next version of dpup482 includes support for the Slackware 13.0 archives .txz as well as .xz and tar.xz, so I put together a pet that will update both tar and add support for .txz, .xz and tar.xz in XArchive.

It should work in all other versions of Puppy.

Could you tell me more about the prob you are having. My youngest son has Pentium M Toshiba Laptop and has been running beta3 for a week now with no probs...so something else may be in play here...when the con drops, check logs and let me know what is happening....I really want to track down all (reasonably recent) laptop probs before we release this...

Right now I'm back on Boxpup, no probs.

482 dropped 6 times, in 6 hours, yesterday.

Maybe it was just a fluke.

I'll try again and see if I can get the info you need.
