elinks - Console Web Browser

#1 Post by aragon »

Home: http://elinks.or.cz/
Version: 0.11.7
ELinks is an advanced and well-established feature-rich text mode web (HTTP/FTP/..) browser. ELinks can render both frames and tables, is highly customizable and can be extended via Lua or Guile scripts. It is quite portable and runs on a variety of platforms. Check the about page for a more complete description.
0.11.7 compiled and tested in 4.2.1.

e-links has, probably, the best parser of any of the text-mode browsers. It is used by a couple of programs to 'dump' content. And its' libs for de-coding MS Word files and others, is now part of abiword.

updated to 0.11.6

see main post.

NOTE: If you've an older version installed, it would be better to uninstall that first. I've changed the prefix and splitted up the pet's so that the main pet is much smaller.

Hello aragon !

Thank you very much for your work and the great console based web browser.

I am planning to automate login to a website like "nic.de.vu" for updating some information on the site.

Do you know some easy console based solution to login to a page
change some data and logout.
Could e-links be used for that ?

Thanks again for the package.
Greetings ARAN

yes... I am posting from it now in Barry's 218... much has been upgraded in that, so I didn't hesitate to install it even though it was compiled in 421.

Thanks aragon.. now off to remaster this cd and boot the ol' 486.. hehe

new versions of text browsers lynx links elinks

#10 Post by sindi »

Duckduckgo just informed me that as of Jan 1 2020 I will not be able to use it with
my current version of lynx, nor does it work with old version of links and elinks
available to racy linux.

SDF.org has versions that do work. Are there recent version of any of these already compiled that
will work with lupu or racy puppy?
