Bizarre, I've played Sensible Soccer, Another World, Akira, Colonization and a few others without problems.. Tried a few roms which didn't work, but most of them had no problems.. And I now like the Amiga, I must say... Best version of Another World that I've played!

However, if people don't know, the SFS and .PET versions of Puppy Arcade already include the later E-UAE. :)

I have to get around to trying the SFS, myself... I've been cheating, somewhat, lately, and mounting SFS files like they were separate drives. :D

It is a pitty I can get xorg to work..but I'll try to edit it by hand :)
Thanks very much, hope it works for you.. :D Unfortunately I can't help you out as I've no idea which card you've got and am no real expert, but dare I say that if you read up on MUs posts or ask him something, you'll be fine - he's the man for gpu/video/xorg related stuff.

My card is a 3dfx Voodoo 3 3000 16Mb :) don't know why,but at least puppy 2 detects well this card,no need to configure xorg by hand..
There are even some emulators that run in glide (3dfx proprietary api) instead of opengl wich is fantastic for me :D

This seems to be a problem for everyone on Puppy 4.x on this forum.. I hevn't found a solution, but Puppy Arcade works very well in Xvesa, apart from pSX and Mupen64, which require OpenGL.. I've added a new list of drivers to the main post, under the INTEL PETS... Maybe this could help you, but I think not! :(

Also, you could always add Puppy Arcade SFS/PET to Puppy 2.. You may need to convert the SFS, but there's a tool around this forum somewhere for that...

A new version of Puppy Arcade is available. Get it here:

Download Puppy Arcade V3 - Live CD ISO

Mirror 1, Mirror 2 - 111MB, md5: 44ec20801a7b8723d23ee8d1b8a2b82f

V3 has Firefox 2, not FirePup, a full mail client built into Firefox, improved online office support, and a lot more useful updates and apps.. And it also includes much better Amiga emulation, using E-UAE... More info in the main (first) post of this thread..

An another note...

The JWM theme used is 'Clearlooks' for GTK and I then applied that theme to JWM as well, using the JWM tool, found in 'Desktop' on the start menu... Also, in V3, IceWM uses the IceKDE by default.. Looks similar to JWM :)

thanks a lot one more time!I've been trying to get your puppy look into puppy 4.3.1 but not really sucessful..is there any chance of getting a pet for the complete theme/icon set/menu etc etc?
The pet/sfs packages are a great idea,so we can have it in new puppy, but I do really miss the beauty of it :)
I'll give a try at your v3 too!thanks a lot for this!

I've created this pet package for you, which is a start... It doesn't look exactly the same in 4.3, but it's very close.

How to use it:

1. BEFORE you install the pet package, please backup the following, just in case.. Just make a copy of these files somewhere else...

/root/.jwm/
/root/.jwmrc-tray
/root/.jwmrc-traye

2. Install the pet package. Then...

3. Change the icon theme by going to "menu->desktop->desktop icon switcher"

4. Change the GTK theme to Clearlooks, by going to "menu->desktop->Chtheme GTK theme chooser"

5. Finally, go to "menu->desktop->JWM configuration->apply current GTK theme to JWM"

6. (Optional) If you want to replace the JWM files you backed up earlier, then go for it.. This may be an improvent, I didn't do it, though.

NOTE: You will need to restart JWM, and maybe X to see all the changes loaded correctly, usually for the taskbar.. Anyway, hope you enjoy it.

No, I don't have any green icons.. No idea what's going on there!! Sorry...

And funnily enough, I added the 4.3 look to my install (Puppy Arcade V3 + OpenOffice.sfs) - now I've got the blue icons from 4.3! :)

New, better pet package added

#104 Post by sc0ttman »

New pet package added: A (slightly) improved emulator pack, better packaged...

Mirror 1 : http://www.sendspace.com/file/reeznx

Please post some mirrors if you can.

This pet package is 14mb smaller and has some other improvements - pSX and a few other emulators are already setup a little better 'out of the box'..

If you were experiencing any 'out of memory' errors while trying to install the previous pet package, please use this one and try again, I think it will work for everyone.

Main post updated.

yo

havent tried ur v3 yet, as v2 is workin coo for me

never got psx to work...stopped tryin.

n64 ran like ball sax on my eeepc

i got an monitor usb kybd/mouse/HD plugged in and they are all workin..just fyi

Somen u should include...as it would be the ulitmate gamen pup.. is Wine.. ive installed it and i can run some old school fps fine.. the only MP game i got working so far is Unreal Gold... but if u aint include a couple of roms..then i would see why u wouldnt include wine...microsoft might get pissed lol. but fuk em right?

What i am currently working on is Team Fortress 2....as i've got steam working, but.... if u sift through the forums u should see my post about it, it just runs like complete shit... idk wut 2 do with it...

i dont see an updated version of wine.pup as im 2 dumb to compile it myself... but im thinkin maybe its version of windows on wine...but idk how u would uprgade that...or just the simple lack of some good vid/audio drivers. I tried to run grand theft auto SA....i got a plane white screen when i tried to load the .exe... in which on another pc i attempted it on windows...but the pc had a 8mb onboard vid...so it obviously wouldnt run it...but drivers then.... idk i've typed to much im lost now. lool but if u got some insight on wine/tf2 lemme know.

NEW Puppy Arcade - V4

#106 Post by sc0ttman »

Puppy Arcade v4 - now based on TurboPup - so your games run even smoother!! :D

It's more focused on gaming, so it's a little smaller than before, and much faster!

Get the ISO now (108MB).. Main post updated.

Download V4 here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/ud1fed

Please post a mirror if you can, I'll do it later... But I got connection issues again!

Hey Trip

The Mob are supposed to be...."We are a top PC-Multiplayer clan based on Organization & Respect"

Where's the respect in coming back here and saying
i myself....have moved on to ubuntu... as its far better then puppy in general.. so peace
Peace to you, too, Bro.....you just didn't need to add the dumper on your way out!

Real respecters don't do that, OK?

Anyways, you wouldn't expect anyone here to agree, now, would'ya?

Aitch :)
