To install Watchtower Library
1 - Install wine

Use the new version.

2 - Put cdrom wtilibrary and go to setup.exe - run with wine ( with right button on setup.exe choice Set run action, so type wine before "$" and click Use Command. Do the normal installation.
One icon is created in File folder.

The path parameter is ignored for desktop and menu launchers. As result, Watchtower Library does not start when you click these. The simple solution is to change "Command" parameter in launcher to wine start wtlibrary.exe

3 -Edit icon that appears in root box (File folder on Desktop)- with right button on icon choice edit with geany or open As Text- into line Exec erase everything and change to
Exec=wine start wtlibrary.exe
save and close.
After it, you can rename the icon - right button on icon choice rename and erase (.Desktop) from it, nothing more. Done, drag-and-drop to Desktop.
Now you can use the icon.

4 - When Watchtower start ask if want to print instructions, make your choice. You can't read anything inside window, it's because the font is not installed, go to Library/properties and selection a font.

#### With XFCE is a little different - the instalation will creat two icons on Desktop, one like link and othe like exec, remove the link and edit other like above, the same way, edit with geany or other editor and leave like:

[Desktop Entry]
Name=Watchtower Library 2008 - Português
Exec=wine start wtlibrary.exe
Type=Application
StartupWMClass=Wine
Path=/root/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Arquivos de programas/Watchtower/MEPSCommon
Icon=a4d3_wtlibrary.0

Only line Exec you need to change.

ok, I installed wine and wtlib08 (previously I should increase pupsave size).

Step 1,2 was ok.

but with step 3:

Code: Select all

#wine start wtliblibrary.exe
fixme:exec:SHELL_execute flags ignored: 0x00000500
wine: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x000001ec at address 0x7ef9dd18 (thread 0010), starting debugger...
I only can see the splash screen, and wtlib can not continues.

PPM tell me that Liberation and ttcorefonts are installled (I previosuly installed Firefox 3.5)
The wine you link me is 1.1.2

any sugestion?

Hi, I tested here with the new Puppy and is very well.
I used the same wine.
And after instalation, open File box, rename the icon e drag and drop to Desktop.
With right button on icon choice open As Text, into line Exec leave like this:
Exec=wine start wtlibrary.exe
Nothing more.
See below:

[Desktop Entry]
Name=Watchtower Library 2008 - Português
Exec=wine start wtlibrary.exe
Type=Application
StartupWMClass=Wine
Path=/root/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Arquivos de programas/Watchtower/MEPSCommon
Icon=a4d3_wtlibrary.0

##without space between = and wine.###Exec=wine..........
Save and close. Clik on icon.

After open Watchtower, go to Library/properties and choice a font there.
If it don't work, install watchtower again.
ttf-corefonts is not neccessary to run wtlibrary, Liberation.pet is to more options of fonts, only if you wish install it.

Watchtower Library/ New Wine/Compaq Armada 1571 dm

I tested the instalation of Watchtower Library with Puppy 4.30 and wine 1.28 in a Compaq Armada 1571 dm pentium mmx 200.
The instalation was very good but the icon of Watchtower disappear.
In this case you need to creat a icon, open Geany and copy the lines below:

[Desktop Entry]
Name=Watchtower Library 2008
Exec=wine start wtlibrary.exe
Type=Application
StartupWMClass=Wine
Path=/root/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Arquivos de programas/Watchtower/MEPSCommon
Icon=a4d3_wtlibrary.0.png

Save like Watchtower Library in root folder.
So you can drag and drop the new icon to Desktop, after with the right button on the new icon on Desktop choice set icon, leave the window open, go to File folder and click on show hidden files,
go to /.local/share/icons and drag and drop the image on set icon window.
I hope it works better.

Watchtower Library 2010 is working nice on new Puppy, you need only to install Wine-1.3.13-Lucid52 with Puppy Package Manager.
So you can stall Watchtower normally.
After installation you can create a shortcut on desktop making this fille with Text Editor. Where says Português change to your Language.

[Desktop Entry]
Name=Watchtower Library 2010 - Português
Exec=wine start wtlibrary.exe
Type=Application
StartupNotify=true
Path=/root/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Arquivos de programas/Watchtower/MEPS Platform 2.3
Icon=8D65_WTLibrary.0

Copy and past the text above in Geany and save on root folder with name Watchtower 2010.
After it you can drag and drop the icon in root folder to desktop.
When Watchtower library start, go to Library/Properties and choice a font.
