Puppy cannot start up Intel pro wireless 3945abg Subject description: but does miracles
Hello, I have tried this Puppy 4.2.1 seamonkey which I have successfully installed on a USB drive.
It is a true wonder and runs fast as hell.
The only problem is that I cannot make my wireless card to work, actually it cannot turn it up.
Mine is a Fujitsu-Siemens laptop which activates the builtin Intel pro wireless 3945abg card via a key combination under windows.
I think that it's for this reason, Puppy sees the card but cannot start it up (first button of the wizard). It correctly says I should turn wireless on, and in fact the wireless light is off, but there is no hardware switch.
I'm sure there must be somebody having solved this problem under Linux already.

update (solved)
Hello,
I discovered that there is a module named acerhk which should do the job. Actually had no chance to compile it (my Puppy seems to have no GCC at all).
However, I was able to solve it by upgrading the FLASH BIOS to version 1.10 - on Fujitsu-siemens support site. This upgrade allows you to wake up your PC with Wireless ON by default.
So, problem solved - Puppy is marvellous with wireless working.
