No plans of creating a .pet?

Open Office would make a huge pet, but it works well as a sfs file. I'm running a full install, so I just mounted the sfs and copied all the files and directories to their correct places. It worked like a champ.

I've done it many of times and works well, The only thing that some people do is make the icons add to desktop in the package, This really isn't a good idea, and can cause the desktop to run a muck, but usually I remove that from the sfs package and then make the pet. Just delete the root folder and build the pet.

Downloads and installs fine on 4.3beta/Asus EEE 900.
I am in 4.3 Beta 1 and the sfs is not being recognized
maybe if I put it through the sfs upgrader from Trio . . .
update
Put it through the upgrader
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 812#332812
and it appeared in Bootmanager
so I was able to add and reboot
the icons appeared for open office (but just blank script icons - not full colour ones)
Clicking on them nothing
also right mouse click not working
no menu options working
OK no ctrl + alt + backspace
had to turn off machine (reset button not connected)
On reboot my two save files (running from CD)
came up
but keyboard(USB) was not responding
Puppy up and running from new install in a few minutes . . .
Alternative for Ziddu?

I would like to have another download site. Ziddu is extremely slow and breaks down. Not recommended for files of this size.
How to make a Dutch version?

Another thing: is it possible to publish a manual somewhere about how to make an Open Office SFS in another language?
I see you made an Italian one - I would like to have one in Dutch. How do I proced from the original english SFS?

Sorry to hear about those sfs problems, lobster. I forgot to mention that I'm working with a frugal install along with current 4.3beta and eee 900. I did not have to "upgrade" the sfs--worked fine straight from the download.
One pleasant surprise was a "complete" mounting of the sfs, meaning that the colored icons for all ooo apps apeared on the desktop and all functional. I haven't had that with my specs since openoffice 3.0.
Jake
Edit: Lobster, it occurs to me that you're probably using the newer kernel in 4.3beta. I'm using the earlier one, more eee-friendly due to tempestuous's fine pets.

SFS works but the Pet not yet

In Puppy 4.2.1 it works like a charm (unfortunately the icons of all the open office progs pop back on my desktop but that is a minor problem. I like to have only the soffice icon on the desktop).
Ttuuxxx' openoffice.org-l10n-nl_3.1.1.pet however has no effect on the user interface. When I open /opt/openoffice.org3/program/soffice
Then go to tools => options => language settings => languages => language of user interface
I still have only the choice between Default and English (which happens to be the same)

ohhhh its using /opt hmmmmmm that's why, I'm not using OO, so I can't test it, but its looks like its using a different default directory, kind of like how qt in 4 series does. The small pet I made up would have to be opened and move the directories to the right locations.

Hello and thankyou for the openoffice sfs, I have it working fine on Lighthouse Pup 4.4.2d frugal install. I was wondering if there is way to stop it from loading the icons on the desktop, as it doesn't draw the icons correctly. It will launch to applications fine just doesn't have the proper icons. I also like to keep a pretty clean desktop with just wbar as my prog launcher. If anyone can help with that it would be appreciated.
Cheers

I converted the sfs to a pet made the following changes
- deleted the fonts , then I system linked puppies default fonts
- removed the desktop icons/pinboard
this once again is a temp location, so another mirror would be good.

you have to edit the sfs and delete the /root folder
or just use the pet I supplied above that has those icons already removed.
