Puppy can't detect my scsi burner

On doing a hardware probe I get the following results
No info found about the device 10cd.1300 (SCSI)

The only distro that seems to detect it is mediainlinux.

I've emailed Barry Direct as per the intructions
in Hardware detect output
Thought this may of interest to the general community.
and there may be a generic solution.
