Puppy Linux save file(.2fs) backwards compatibility

#1 Post by patrick0303 »

Hi all!

I want to know if Puppy Linux 4.12's save file(puppy_save.2fs) is backwards compatible with earlier versions of Puppy Linux (ie. 2.14).

Meaning can I move the save file from Puppy 4.12 and put it in Puppy 2.14 and expecting Puppy 2.14 to run smoothly with the setting of 4.12.

Thanks!

Patrick

well though the filesystem is compatible the boot script may not pick it up...it looks for.3fs. Even if it did there are some settings that would confuse/mess up between version. What are you trying to achieve...perhaps a kernel change would be more suitable?
