Puppy Browser 4.9[SOLVED]

#1 Post by kazzamozz »

Hi there,
this is my first post. Love the browser puppy, however have come across an annoying bug. If you scroll to the left on you laptop mouse it tends to shut the browser window. It's not too bad as Firefox remembers the saved page, but it does it for now apparent reason. Just thought I'd let you know if someone else hasn't already reported it. Great work. Love the puppy pulets. Always been a Windows girl. No longer
cheers.

Are you sure it isn't cycling through virtual desktops?

That was the experience I had the first time I worked with Linux. I turned the mouse wheel and... EVERYTHING IS GONE

But: Browserpuppy has only one desktop.

Try the new version (browserlinux.com). It has some updates.

All puppies I used do this 'disappearing trick' with the browser. One must make sure the window is maximized and don't point the mouse to the extreme edges of the window while scrolling (hey now I confused myself..I'm not in Puppy now..but, well, it happens - the browser disappearing).

Anyway, I think it may have something to do with the WM settings.

Browser window closing

#6 Post by kazzamozz »

Hi there,
had the same problem, all you have to do is scroll back up to top of page right click and tell puppy to unshade and your window will reappear. This happens in quite a few of the puppies.
Hope this helps. I was getting around this with firefox remembering the session. However this didn't always work. After playing around with a few of the puppy distros I found this fix. Not sure why the window hides, but at least I now know how to get it back.

right click and tell puppy to unshade
Or scroll down with your wheel over the title bar.

Shading is a pretty standard feature of Linux windows managers. Personally I think it should only shade when you scroll on the titlebar, not the window border.
Do you know a good gtkdialog program? Please post a link here
