Superpup Wallpaper

#1 Post by 01micko »

Superpup, love him or hate him he is Puppy!

Myself and CatDude are partly resposible for him. BarryK likes him. Many others do and don't.

Simple question, vote if you like!

(argh! something weird happened when editing, sorry :? . The votes will still tally up the same 8) )

SuperPup

#3 Post by Minnesota »

SuperPup is playful... however the bright red on the BRIGHT blue background is a bit overwhelming... can we tone down the intensity of the background a bit?

And may I asked again for the VERSION number on the desktop someplace please.

:)

micko maybe you should post a screenshot so general users might have an Idea what your talking about, not everyone looks at the wall paper thread or downloads alpha puppy versions, Plus the default wallpaper for 4.3 is months off, I think its wayyyyyyyyyyy too soon to vote on that, maybe at RC 1 or RC 2, status, plus basically your telling Barry what to do? He usually makes his mind up on his own, But I like the little superpup guy, he's cute, I think his lefthand waistline needs fixing, looks like his lefthand side is dented, where his blue undies are, still a nice guy, If he doesn't make default, maybe he can still be kept in the wallpaper section.

The default wallpaper I have in 2.14X series, I found on the wallpaper section, it was from a wallpaper site in Russia I think , I added about 4cm more of sand on the bottom and compressed the image, maybe you can super-pup in that and see if that could be default?

Hi Minnesota usually most people don't like numbers on images, I like my images clea, but Most the time if you want a version number, usually Barry puts in in the help section like /menu/help this it what it say
'Welcome to Puppy version 4.1.6, released Jul 2009'

Version Numbers

#7 Post by Minnesota »

I understand not to clutter the desktop... OK.. ttuuxxx you put the version in the Start menu button... that is fine with me... since I often am helping to test several version at a time.. and have several versions on different media... I don't always remember which one is up on what computer... OK...just me.. but it would be nice to have the version number where a quick glance to see it... not to have to dig in the guts to find.

Thanks.

yeah...his budgie-smugglers are a bit tight and make him look like a Porky Pup, as Keef commented ...needs to be addressed if he's to be a 'cover-pup' coz he's supposed to be trim, taut'n'terrific after all..

I like the 01micko/CatDude wallpaper though..

:D

About wallpaper

No, but give it has option. And i think, it would be a good idea to remove like lots of icon, dunno, like just leaving setup, and most important ones, and maybe a text file icon, explaining a couple of things.

It doesn't matter what I, or anyone else, thinks. Barry will do what pleases him.

I asked an independent colleague yesterday what he thought of it. His first reaction was to smile and say it is cute.

I asked if he would take Puppy seriously with that wallpaper.

He said - no, not really but it was good for kids.

There you have it (on a sample of 1).

If the demographic of Puppy is kids then it is a great wallpaper.

If you want Puppy to be taken seriously - try something else.

8) I don't take Puppy seriously
nor does Barry

However you will notice Barry works seriously at improving Puppy
It is only an OS - no need to get precious about it

I would suggest the attitude is similar to Slackware
whose name comes from the Church of Bob and the concept of 'slack'

Puppy is fun. Fun is a serious business.

It's also now in the boot screen, the very first image above the boot prompt.
