Subject description: 4.2.1 is no way perfect - read on....

Hello Everyone,
I started this version of TEENpup for use on my EeePC 900A for when I go overseas at the end of the year. Saying this it is not a EeePC version only and is for general use like other TEENpup´s. In relation to the EeePC not all functions may work as I only need my EeePC to do what I want it to. So what works for you with Puppy 4.2.1 and your EeePC should work with TEENpup 2010 mini.

My thoughts on Puppy 4.2.1 as a base is it has more problems over the 2 series and has trouble running more than 1 big KDE app at a time which makes me feel I using Windows again. I sit here waiting for apps to render and the system sometimes freezes. I will now be able to promote that the next version of TEENpup has that genuine Windows feel and annoying slowness Windows lovers have come to expect. LOL!

Overall in the end this version should still be usable and appears to be most happiest on my EeePC. All the above problems show themselves up more on my 2.6Ghz Celeron 1Gb of RAM Desktop PC.

Hello, John

How small do you plan to make the mini? I have been chanting "a better 2 series" but none of them were actually "better".

I now don't expect any good 2 series. However, 4.2.1 is not really as fast as I would like to have.

Have you ever thought about using PULP or Turbo?

John S

P.S. 2009 version didn't fit my computer size wise.

Maximum size 300Mb´s includes Amarok, SMplayer, K3B, Kontact, Kopete, Kaudiocreator just to name a few. Still KDE 3 series not 4.

John just to let you know
I used JTEENpup "2009 Legacy" on an Athlon 64 bit dual processor
Got Audacity working with my USB drive
- So now I know how to get my recordings done Smile

I believe I also tried with the 2010 version without success
but I could be mistaken . . .

Anyway just to say thanks Smile

John, have you considered using Puppy 4.30-31 as a base for Teenpup Mini instead of Puppy 4.21?
