pqm - Puppy Query Manager

#1 Post by clarf »

I´m proud to announce the release of pqm (Puppy Query Manager).

This is a package manager for Puppy that helps querying software packages installed. It´s also a tool that helps to retrieve System information such as: Squashfs version, Kernel version, Puppy version, free Memory, CPU information, etc.

This program was made with the flexibility and power of awk. It was born from the need to know some information from packages installed in Puppy and their dependencies. In the beginning I was confused mixing libraries and packages, but after get some forum help (thanks Bruce B and Big_Bass) I could learn something about package management in Puppy, then I wanted to make an app that query and display that information in a better way.

You can get additional information about awk Programing in: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=45743

Instructions:

1. Download the pqm.zip file
2. Unzip file
3. just type ./pqm and the Help screen will be displayed.

Any idea or comment to improve this app is welcome.

Greetings,

clarf.

This app will be maintained and further functionality added. I´m thinking now to add some options: write query results to files and add some dependencies checks.
