Bad link?

The link appears to be incorrect. It tries to go to www.puppylinux.ca.nyud.net instead of just www.puppylinux.ca

I have it working in Precise-5.6.1

In which "Precise" version doesn't it work for you?

Have you tried entering the command:
/sbin/sysctl -w kernel/shmmax=130000000
...at a terminal command prompt before running the Avast program, then trying to update the database?

1. I don't have the means to post a video, and Precise-5.7.1 isn't one of the the 7 Puppies I have set up for use.
I might be able to easily update Precise-5.6.1 to Precise-5.7.1; I'll examine that possiblity tomorrow.

2.
a. What have you done so far?
b. Did you install the avast4workstation-1.0.8.pet?
c. How are you running the Avast program?
Don't run it using a command at a terminal prompt.
You should run it using "Menu->Utility->Avast!".
When I do so, the program window takes 26sec to appear on screen. [patience needed]
