aTunes is a full-featured audio player and manager, developed in Java programming language, so it can be executed on different platforms: Windows, Linux and Unix-like systems, ...
Currently plays mp3, ogg, wma, wav, flac, mp4 and radio streaming, allowing users to easily edit tags, organize music and rip Audio CDs.

aTunes not working?

Hi.

Newbie to linux here. Have been trying out puppy linux on an old celeron 566Mhz 64mb ram computer and have got puppy 4.2.1 retro loading for the HDD. I followed the directions of loading the dependencies before installing aTunes from the provided link and it seems to install ok. When I go to run it, nothing happens. No error messages or anything, it just doesn't start. Any suggestions on what I could try?
I'm basically wanting to use this computer in a garage to be able to play music and a little light web surfing.
Is the a program that would be better suited to my uses and computer setup than aTunes?
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I'm kinda after something a little like WMP which I currently use under windows or itunes, where I can see my whole music library and play playlists, internet radio etc. I may be mistaken, but I had a play with some of the default players and none seemed to have that music library/management type setup.
Someone had suggested I try aqualung, which may be more suitable for my setup. I'll investigate that link you posted and do some testing in the next couple of days.

It is 1.13.1. In near future I will prepare 2.0.0. Now it is 2.0.0 - I updated.

aTunes 2.0.0 is available

Why wait? 8)

aTunes 2.0.0 deb package works like a PET: just download and click to install. Read more: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 8&start=15.

I think 2.0.0 is even lighter than 1.13.6 which I have used since December. And it takes a smaller amount of puppy space than 1.13.6 did. :D

They were a lot of jukeboxes when PuppyLinux was Younger, too many ?
Not in my opinion, just try the one which fits your Puppy version, and your personal taste.
Choice will disappear, because music lovers are replaced, or they all have left the forum, i don't know.
2016 webs offers lot of sites where music is free of charge, or really not expensive, with millions of titles available.
But personally, i should find Puppy Linux sad without all these multimedia applications.
Atunes pet was available, downloaded. feedback soon.
Information In Puppy Facebook for Argentina, and Facebook Brazil should get music lovers come back and test The jukeboxes from our forum archives.
Useless Puppies ? Rock and Roll is back again, jazz bands, Salsa from Rio, choose :!:
