:D Hello,
Ahh, a tough question indeed..
"Official Versions" or Puplets??
Barebones or Bling???
Is speed or size the # 1 criteria??

The differences are pretty minimal, and depend a lot on hardware / desired software specifications...

I would love an antivirus security type distro.

I downloaded Hirens Boot cd yesterday...9.9.
Hirens has never been a favourite of mine.

But this is a stunner....
and includes a Micro XP boot.
What a beauty.
The boot up time for this blows UBCD4Win away.
He has really made life easier to fix computers.

The windows explorer shell is quick.
I could even activate my copy of Antivir on my
hard drive and scan files.

Plus he has a mile of utilities.
Is it street legal?
Gosh...........he ponders.
Maybe useful for evaluation purposes only.

////////////

Anyway a basic Puppy.
That could fix/reset passwords, have a couple of AV
scanners that work out of the box.
A file manager that's easier for Windows refugees.

A browser that won't crash.
Maybe a Tor type Firefox as well.
Also include Opera Unite ready to run.
Because I could use that like Teamviewer...
a great program TV.

Otherwise an Indian Puplet.
That would be extremely popular.

But include English as well.
Just like Hacaos 2 new Vietnamese Puppies.

""""""""""
Anyway whatever you decide I wish you success and
support from the Puppy community.

Welcome aboard mate.............Chris.

Hi what the community has been looking for a long time, Is a stable Firefox 3 series, actually Firefox started being unstable in puppy when it released version 2.0, we used to use flash patches back then to make make flash work and not crash Firefox, I've been working on 2.14.1R, which is a updated version of 2.14 that 2 users made up a few years back, They compiled some extra video drivers in Xorg and added extra updates, etc, It was a great release back then, But over time became dated, So I basically almost replaced most of the backend and updated the front end, like newer glibc, gtk, glib, pango etc maybe 70 programs by now, But after I replaced all that and Glibc, Firefox 3.5 and flash 10 worked perfect 100% now this is the first time since like I said FF2.0 Series. 4 series will run FF3 but nothing like 2.14.1X can. I'm still not sure why its running so well, its either the extra Xorg drivers, the newer gtk/pango/cairo/ mix etc, The only other Puppy release that had a stable Firefox 3 series to the level of 2.14.1x was dpup, and thats stuck in a alpha and really isn't being worked on much, jpup is getting all the woof attention.

If you would like to see the difference on FF3 and different releases,
download 2.14.1Xv4 and go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox
just use the scrollbar up and down, now take any other puppy release add FF3.5 and go to that page and try the scrollbar,

If we could figure out what in particular is making FF3 working the way it does in 2.14.1X, Then we could add it to the rest of the puppy releases and make a whole community happy.

It not only makes Firefox 3.5 stable with flash 10, But also Seamonkey is stable with flash 10. In 4 series were kind of stuck using flash 9, because flash 10 is unstable in 4 series.

Anyways that's an Idea for you.
