I have added a simple animated background to go with that theme. Check out the Macpup-Red2-bg.edj on my macpup page.

Hi,
Really love how E17 is running on MacPup. At some point I had installed YellowDog on my sister's old MacG4 but there wasn't much easy configuration going on then and I abandoned it.

I set both TeenPup and MacPup out in front of my 11yo daughter and had her navigate around a while. Interesting that while my wife & I really loved the simple desktop of MacPup, my daughter felt far more comfortable with the big one click icons and desktop of TeenPup. I'm going to try again with a larger E17 ibar, still getting accustomed to navigating around to configure. Still can't find the option of adding a 2nd "shelf" for launchers as well as desktop widgets. Will keep trying and orienting myself to it and I keep liking Macpup more & more as I use it. Setting up the wireless was a breeze!! Thanks!

To add a new shelf , menu - settings - shelves then "add" select setup then set contents or advanced . But you only have one ibar . You can add icons to the desktop but e17 has a bug with them .After you open an app or even close that app the icons stays selected untill you click on the desktop. Just COPY ( dont move) the .desktop file of the app you want from /usr/share/applications to root/desktop. You will need to double click on the icon to launch the app.

Thanks,
I had figured out adding another shelf but realized extra ibars only produce the identical ibar. Will try the tip for a few extra launchers and maybe look for more shelf gadgets if available.

Subject description: no crash that I know of

Not sure if this is the place to report a MacPup Opera bug but I've had this "error pop up" twice now, though nothing has crashed that I know of. The system pop up says,"Enlightenment Error This is very bad. Enlightenment SEGV2 This is not meant to happen and is likely a s-(?) a bug in Enlightenment or the libraries it relies on...." etc etc.

This occured on 2 seperate USB start ups copied into RAM while on E17 desktop.

Laptop is thinkpad X40 256mb RAM

Wish I could do something other than reporting it. Rolling Eyes

Update:
I tried to "restart" Enlightenment after some configuring because some changes hadn't taken effect and the desktop crashed. All the shelves were reduced to empty, I pulled the USB out, did not save pupfile.

Sometimes e17 can have problems ,remember they still consider it to be pre alpha even though it work really great for me. I have seen that error usually when it has a problem with a theme or a extra-module . That is the main reason why I only included a few of the extra modules and not the whole set cause the others where really buggy. Usually that error gives you 2 options like f1 and f2 .I just select the one that is continue and it usually runs fine. If you do exit e17 you can enter xwin jwm or xwin enlightenment_start at the prompt.

" I pulled the USB out, did not save pupfile." If you're running live off that usb that is very bad . linux will mess it up if you unplug a mounted drive. You will probably need to delete that pup-save and start over.
