Wow, he does a beautiful job all right and his A-Plat-Red-Macpup theme is just elegant, understated class, for my 2 cents..

Very Happy

Awesome! That Puppy-clock is priceless....Vertegal is one amazing themester and his work really suits the Macpup style...

Hey runtt, perhaps you should engage him on a semi-permanent contract basis to theme for Macpup.. Question Wink

Sub_title: net connection not possible

Hi

I really would like to use Macpup Opera as a primary system, but I couldn't make any type of internet connection. By the way I would like to FULLY translate to hungarian the whole system, is there any possibility? However, posting over here with my problems maybe not correct, but could someone help to me? Any experiences?

zoltan, I'm quite a newbie to Puppy, but for others to help you, you may post what exactly did you try (like dial-up or which type of broadband you have - adsl, the one that you have to enter name and password or auto dhcp).
Also you could try asking in the Beginners Help section and (if you can get on the Internet with other system) look at these links:

Well, I have tried to use properly, by manual too ALL 4 given tools (network wizard, network wizard old, roaring penguine, pwireless) to get a network connection through my intel 3945 wifi, or eth0 realtek 8139+ too. So, I knew the steps
( 1. Under "Interfaces" click on the newly detected wireless adapter
2. Click on the "Wireless" button
3. Click on "Scan" (this may take a number of attempts), choose your own network (find your manufacturer and model), then click OK
4. Choose your "Encryption" by clicking on "WEP" or "WPA/TKIP", then enter your passkey where it says "Provide a key"
5. Click "Save" and this connection will be launched at every boot
6. Click "Use This Profile"
7. Click "Auto DHCP" (or "Static IP" and enter the IP addresses manually if "Auto DHCP" doesn't work) then you are connected)

Scanning works, it finds my WEP secured router, but after giving the key, doesn't accept, and still NO network, also when it looks like after auto dhcp it finded - it's not. Tried to make other profiles, tried to use autoconnect, no show. With eth0 very similarly - when it seems to be finded and responds - still not works.

I have made net connections several times (under puppy also), so I think I'm not a beginner - but this is really doesn't works. And seems not just for me. I have red other forums that couldn't works, also at our forum at www.linuxempire.hu too.
By the way, why is multiple tools are included for each setup tasks, why isn't just one for each, inside with other possibilities?

PS. Any knowledge about localisation works to other language?

Thanks,

Zoltan

the reltek adapter should work no problem, and you seem to be doing everything right by your descrption.
have a video on youtube which goes thru the process if you want to see it.

Hear hear, probably my favourite puppy theme of all time. And yes, Macpup is brilliant.

Since Opera in Macpup doesn't allow me to sign in to my iGoogle page at all, I have to use Seamonkey.

I have found a nice Seamonkey theme that goes well with Verdegal's wine theme. It's called Apollo by Aaron Spuler. Get it here:

http://www.spuler.us/themes/apollo/

There are also some other interesting Seamonkey things here as well.

Well done, guys...no.8 is nothing to sneeze at and Puppy's doing well this week, too. Interesting to see how high Macpup climbs as he becomes more widely known..

Rock on, Great Barking One and all your offspring!

Very Happy
