A theft alarm for Puppy?

#1 Post by Colonel Panic »

Having recently suffered the loss (apparently by theft) of a USB pendrive from a public machine running Puppy, I've been thinking about a possible new Puppy feature.

Like most Puppy (and indeed Linux) users I know better than to remove a mounted pendrive from a computer which is running Puppy, because of the risk of losing data. Most non-Puppy users don't know this though and this presumably includes most pendrive thieves. Is it possible to incorporate an alarm into Puppy, so that if a pendrive is removed without unmounting it first the computer sounds an alarm?

Just a thought,
