Looking for puppy109ce-kde3.5.2.iso

#1 Post by legendofthor »

G'day,
wanting to try this on my older machines - may be able to modify it for the old computers being sold at the local Charity.

I've searched fairly extensively but only come up with broken links.
Any help would be appeciated.

Cheers
Martin

This might be what you are looking for. Just less than halfway down the page.

Can Someone put it up? Maybe

I have a computer that is the Puppy collection to me. I don't have 1.09 at all. I wasn't into Puppy 'til the release of 2.15CE. I would love to see them all.

legendofthor,

I used 109ce for a long time on this machine. I tried the KDE version for a while, but felt it had little to offer over the standard version of 109ce. I've been looking through all of my old puppy cd's but I'm sorry to say I can't find that one.

Won't boot

#11 Post by Schism »

Downloaded.
Opened iso and copied files to pup109KDE folder.
Grub Menu.lst addition:
title Puppy 109 KDE frugal
rootnoverify (hd0,5)
kernel /pup109KDE/vmlinuz pmedia=atahd psubdir=pup109KDE
initrd /pup109KDE/initrd.gz

get error 15?

Also get this with Puppy 2.15CE installed the same way.

Early versions won't boot from a subdirectory. Also, you may need:
kernel /vmlinuz root=/dev/ram0
215CE might do, but needs extra parameters - look at the thread in Puppy Projects about updating the 2 series.

I have 2 old entries in my Grub:

Code: Select all

title Puppy 108
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
kernel (hd0,0)/puppy108/vmlinuz root=/dev/ram0 acpi=off PFILE=pup003-none-262144 PHOME=hda6
initrd (hd0,0)/puppy108/image.gz
#PFILE=pup001-none-262144

title Puppy 108-test
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
kernel (hd0,0)/puppy108/vmlinuz root=/dev/ram0 acpi=off PFILE=pup004-none-262144 PHOME=hda6
initrd (hd0,0)/puppy108/image.gz
You might extract a empty pup001 (the savefile) to "/" of the hda1.
http://dotpups.de/files/pup001-differen ... 0254MB.zip
Here are also larger ones:
http://dotpups.de/files/pup001-different-sizes/

Note: although the download is small, the files really are huge after extraction :!:

Then use such an entry in grub:

Code: Select all

title Puppy 109-KDE
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
kernel (hd0,0)/109kde/vmlinuz root=/dev/ram0 acpi=off PFILE=pup001-none-262144 PHOME=hda1
initrd (hd0,0)/109kde/image.gz
So you would place image.gz and vmlinuz in the subfolder /109kde/.
usr_cram.f must be placed in "/" of hda1.

I downloaded just to try Korean KDE language packages but with 256MB ram and "state of art" brand new keyboard dead until OS starts kept me trying that.

Cheap 5000~7000 Korean Won Kbds are all ready to use when the power is on but this "New" EXPENSIVE keybd is so damn fit for dumb Windows user.

Who says "new is always better"?

Whoever he is, he never tried "aged"wine.

Any way to try this on my "OLD" machine?

Thanks Mark, looks like you just saved this one from extinction.
