Wikibooks project Sub_title: Puppy Linux book |
|
I have started a Wikibooks project on Puppy Linux and would like to invite anyone who would like to add content to do so, as it will licensed under a free content copyleft license (GFDL at the moment but I think they are moving to CC-SA).

Great project
So all you 'I would like to help Puppy but can not code' guys . . .
Can you take info from manuals and books? (links here)
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=526#526
. . . and educate yourself to Puppy expert status and help others?

Hello,
darrelljon, Lobster, Heres the problem as I see it....
As I got involved in the Manual, (4.0) I quickly realized there was an issue...
Trying to write a manual for Puppy is like trying to predict the weather, and I live in Oklahoma, we KNOW weather.....
Long before it was completed and translated, it was redundant to the "Latest release" new users would D/L from the site....
I started working up pages for 4.1, bur 4.12 beat me to he punch..
Then along came 4.20.....( Am I getting old or these coming awful fast.... )
Each came with GUI changes that made my pics/details mute...
Then I quit trying and started thinking "there must be a better way"...
Duh...WIKI !!!!
1000 editors..LOL..
And if anyone puts in something "mistaken"...
The next one who knows the "correct" answer can fix it...
Problem.....Solution....nice and tidy.....
Sweet...........

GREAT!!
concur with puppyluvr - 1000 editors..LOL..
having tried to get devs interested in Internationalization, [which droope took over ]......
keeping it all up to date & getting the right 'archive cut-off point', is tricky, to say the least
a mammoth project, long overdue
needs separate puppy versioning - I'll see what I can do, not very good at wiki stuff, ......big learning curve, little free time.....
now about that database........ if googlesearch can sort the database at Puppylinux wikibooks, we might just get a useful tool
Lobster - must be an easy way to transfer some of your wiki stuff?
spread the word
