Here's table renamed 2.14X Control panel with clarf's apps added

Is this supposed to be functional or just a graphic for comments?
It certainly doesn't work in my 214x RC frugal even after a reboot.
And can I suggest it goes other than in Menu>Personal. Suggest Setup.

Thanks ttuuxxx,

I didn´t fully tested 214X, so don´t know if bootmanager, remaster, installer, etc. works with the X change made to SFS. ttuuxxx did you run MHHP script to change all "R" to "X" references?, page 157:

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=42553&start=2347

The only one thing that I didn´t see in my initial test, was my updated rc.shutdown script Sad , I made it to let users customize the pup_save name, please add this to next release (it´s down in same page 157).

Thanks again,
clarf

Yes I ran the script, It was only just my sfs converter that wasn't changed.

I thought I added your new rc.shutdown, hmmm can you upload it again please Smile

Oh dear, I must be tired.
Yes it works clicking the titles not icons. I hope it won't always be like that. Find it rather counter-intuitive, which I just seem to have proven. Smile

Dave don't worry about it, I did it myself Smile You've always been real handy with 2.14X, actually it would be nice if the images did launch the apps, then it would work like the desktop icons does Smile

Sure ttuuxxx, I attached it. EDIT: The update shutdown script is already in the RC that you posted. My fault I already had an old SFS in HD with the 214X extension used for previous test... Embarassed

Anyone has a suggestion for the Control Panel selection?. Do we have a icon selector app in 214X, didn´t see it?.

Greetings,
clarf

Just some small personal comments on the Control Panel.

1. as I mentioned above IMO it would be better if clicking the icons rather than the text would select them.

2. also I think this should be in Menu>SetUp not Menu>Personal

3. "Events" is a difficult one but think it deserves to be in Drives or even Miscellaneous, although I never like a Miscellaneous Category.

4. couldn't find Mouse/Keyboard setup. Also time/date/locale.

Otherwise it's really excellent.

Many thanks as ever

Dave

214x16 runs swift!

But every time I reboot I have to auto-dhcp to get internet connection even though saved configuration.

Ok you twisted my arm Wink I would be more than happy to have the sources with clickable icons for software launchers Smile and any other goodies you add to it Smile
Thanks Gposil

Bonjour à tous,
@ gposil and ttuuxxx
I would like to create an edition of Tabbles (Control Panel) translated into French for Toutou Linux 4.31.
I edited the file /root/.tabble for translate tabs and text utilities, but I also want to translate texts of options and change the title (Tableau de Contrôle).
Is there a translation file .po? Or should I recompile? And if so how?
Thanks in advance.
Cordialement Wink

Excuse my ignorance, I installed to HDD, it does not seem to ask me to save session when I shut down?

Hi,

Made a better Test for 214X-RC1.

All 214X references are OK, Puppy Remaster works, Shutdown script can personalize pup_save name (ttuuxxx you already updated the shutdown script, I had a 214X SFS in HDD from previous test Sad, then I saw stuff from 214X16, sorry for the misunderstanding ), pup_save Resize is working fine, I can use BootManager with up to 8 SFS files Smile.

Although I had some problems with Xvesa. I never used Xvesa before but after a small Xwindow crash with an application I had to use it. In Xvesa I don´t have partition icons on desktop, Prompt to X, Shutdown and Reboot don´t work, those options only restarts Xwindow.... Anybody else with Xvesa problems?.

From Xorg side no problems found and everything workin really fine.

clarf.
