I think Eric said until the start of Dec, I think it was Dec 2. He's already given me a new account, I might have to take 1-2 in a couple of weeks from now and move my uploads, probably do some spring cleaning first, Like delete maybe 2.14X 1-8 and keep #9 etc, no need to keep all those previous versions, I have them here anyways.

There's no scsi in 4.3??....
Barry did a special scsi build using an earlier kernel I believe

http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... puppy-4.3/

Answer is, I don't really know as I still haven't got around to putting my scsi kit back together, & into a box....this current box, P4D 2.66Ghz, 1Gb ram, with 160Gb Sata drive was a gift @£56 so I dropped my plan to use a Dell server mobo with 2xP3 1.2Ghz xeon, and never have tested scsi booting which I'd intended....

Funny how mobo destructs, & hard drive corrupts, caused by 'That OS' crashes, change plans on one, eh.....?

The particular link I posted was further down in the thread, and does not relate to the atl driver.
It relates to using kernel boot options
which is often critically important for PCI-E devices on Intel-based motherboards.

Your Realtek ethernet device is PCI-E.

You should try the boot options I mentioned.

Running 2.14 X11 live on my 501 mhz, 384 mb ram w/ 1gb swap AMD K-6-2 box.( Earlier was running 4.31.1).

Firefox is much faster and scrolling and Flash perform much better in 2.14 than 4.31.1, at least on this particular old computer.
Everything else still basically works.

Thanks clarf first thing I'm going to do is upgrade cups to the 4.31.1 version, Once I've tested it and it works then I'll start in the list:) Might as well topple the hardest first and then start fresh:)

Greetings ttuuxxx,
Welcome back and I hope you are feeling better after your chest cold. I guess the Sydney dust storms didn't help.

As clarf said if you go to
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... start=1764 you'll see a revised list I started with others. I can't guarantee it's complete but hopefully it will be a good start for you.

Take care
Dave

Naa not over the cold yet, a real chesty one, coughing fits etc, but I get a few hours a day when its not so bad. I'll upload 9.1 which is basically version 9 with cups, would like to have it tested a bit before spending a lot of time on the other stuff, better off finding out in the start and save a lot of time redoing everything because of cups/gutenprint/foomatic/ghostscript/new Gui for cups launcher I made up.

Back running 2.14X9.1 live....as expected everything works that I can quickly check.

Still amazed at how little resources 2.14X uses.....34 mb of ram. See screenshot.

Streaming video on Youtube is fine, smooth and no skips, in FF on my P3 test box. Quality slips a little in full-screen though.

Gxine? Please, one with subtitles support!!!
This is a very long topic, probably some where there is the answers to my question... but... too too long to easy search for USB booting codes?

Hi could you please test 2.14X-v11 from page 1 and tell me if that has the support your looking for, I'm using v-9 right now and that V-11 had the latest ffmpeg plus extras, I didn't disable;e subtitles so if any version is going to work for that maybe that one, If not I could look into recompiling it all over again. But first please test that release.
