Puppy Checksum Utility

#1 Post by gposil »

This project has changed somewhat since original concept...hopefully for the better...it certainly is simpler to use.

1.) Rox integration with right click on file to create md5sum or sha1sum text files.

2.) A Small application to checksum your downloaded files.

3.) command line checksum and addition of the sha1 algorithm.

If wanted I can add other algorithms on next update.

Please check it and let me know what you think. BTW if anyone wants the c source code for the binaries let me know..

Updated 19 May 2009 with no binaries

Tried it with a puppy410 and 412 usb frugal install ... nothing happens when I click on the utility's icon and no support appears when I right click on a file in ROX.

With a 420 usb frugal install, it will make a correct md5 sum for a file but there is no verify file md5sum support which is the most important feature for me. My copy of 420 is an early download ,,,, waiting for the bugs to get worked out before I download it again.

gposil .... success with the Puppy 420 usb frugal. Phash 1.0b works for hash creation and verification. Great job.

Now Phash will verify a hash on my Puppy 410 and 412 usb frugal installs but I still do not get the ROX right click entries needed to create a hash using Phash 1.0b. I haven't checked out ROX for changes between puppies, but all my puppies have the original ROX supplied in the iso.
