who can explain to me why ever build a new release Sad
....with no retro compatibility Crying or Very sad
...with new bugs Rolling Eyes
...with anything to build again Evil or Very Mad
not to sell new hard/software (non commercial linux is M$mindfree)
not to better security (livecd IS best inviolable box os)
so what ? Confused

Very Happy To add features and capabilitys unavailable in the current version..
Why invent "Color TV"???...or "Power Brakes"...???
Even Puppies evolve....

Not so sure newer release are more "coloured" and have better "brake"
indeed.
Good developers of the community make pupplets on old releases ever better
more evolved.

Not so sure new pet run also on old release ( and old pet on new release
too).

so what ? working on new relase and leave anything done before instead of
deeper develop the present one...

I understand it's a fun building a new one.
I lament it's hard to do not have maintenance of a release you're running
with.
I think puppy will be more attractive with more stability in that way.

I am not saying we should stop making new ones. The world around us keeps changing. But I would like to updating old ones to keep up with the world.

Making a new one is a big job but a little fix up here and there, adding new drivers, updating kernel updates, get rid of unnecessary fat here and there(trim) is easier and more time effective.

I posted a related one.

Users point of view if having long term support distro running on old hardware too !
More usefull more stability more attractivity !
