WOW

Hadn't checked for a while
Cato2006, thanks
Looks very promising.....

for those interested, nghost thread:

Hondasid, can you send me some info on getting a laptop screen to work, don't they have inverters?, saw an article about led backlights......can't find it now....

I have bought a mini-ITX mobo, 12v PSU, 2.8ghz p4 & 2 gig ram, still sorting out other hardware

For all you others looking at computer engine management, nice, if I were still racing, but now I'm retired no....my old mechanical diesel will do me fine, using a biodiesel mix for now, until I can set up my own plant, buying at high prices, but I prefer it, environmentally

thanks everyone for the contributions - a worthy puppy project in the making....

Aitch :)

yes the screens do use invertors. they have a 12v and 5v input, just wire them in with a component to an add on circuit and it comes on whenever you turn on the vehicle or flip a switch in my case. Wiring was hard, as the wires are very small and i have a nervous disorder that affects my hands. but that was probably the hardest part. just get good wiring diagrams for everything and you should have no problem figuring it out. let me dig around and see if i can't find some of the tutorials, it has been about a year since i did it.

I don't have the engine monitored (yet) but I'm looking for my old program I used to have and then it's only a matter of getting it working in wine and getting the cable from genesys. thanx guys, you've forced me spend more money on my truck on an idea i hadn't previously thought of.
Instead of looking out Windows, I'm playing with my Puppy.

New URL for Nghost

#19 Post by cato2006 »

New Url is

http://puppylinux.heliohost.org/

This was compiled on 4.1.2 but has been tested on 4.2.1 and trialled on 4.3 ,

For some reason on 4.3 it runs in an X window rather than as the desktop, if you kill X, then restart X with nothing but a rxvt shell
(eg X & rxvt ), then run NGhost it runs as intended, full screen no X window frame, other wise fully functional, anyone know why it might do this ?

Thanks.
