You may remember MS put code in its HTML that
displayed badly in Opera -
I think Opera took them to court over it

HTML5 is being introduced
MS tried to scupper the open docs standards
They do not play nice

I agree with aragon and tlchost, there is no need to do something like that if we don't need a feature in our sites that is not available to the outdated ie6.

I partly agree with the above.

We can add elements in the puppy sites that do not display all that well in IE6, cos IE6 is just too outdated, but we SHOULD NEVER redirect them to a page saying that they'll have to upgrade their browser before visiting puppy sites. If you want to scare away visitors, thats what you gotta do. Better is just a small block on the websites which says "Upgrade to a newer browser (e.g. Firefox, Opera or IE7/8) to display all elements on this site correctly. That way the IE6 users can still use the website. And thats good cos a really large part of ppl on the internet still use that old outdated shitty browser.

I think you missed the point. Why penalize the viewers because you disagree with Microsoft? If the goal is to introduce folks to Puppy/Linux then you shouldn't punish them.

I suppose we could offer a free security, compatibility upgrade button etc - however most of our sites are geared towards Puppy not software politics. . .
