chmsee: Segmentation fault |

Please check installation of chmsee. I'd met this message (in slaxerpup)
| Code: |
# chmsee
Segmentation fault
#
|
Replace chmsee with kchmviewer. The last one run smoothly on slaxerpup

Hey vanchutr
a gtk error
I updated and compiled gtk to a newer version gtk+-2.12.9-i486-slxr
remove pizzasgood patched gtk-xinput-2.12.1-i486-slxr.tgz
if it was installed side note :there isn't anything wrong with it but for version numbering and compatibility slackware 12.2 uses a later version
then install gtk+-2.12.9-i486-slxr.tgz
http://puppy2.org/slaxer/gtk+-2.12.9-i486-slxr.tgz
*I will also update chmsee
thanks for posting
Joe

I compiled the latest cmake 2.6.4
So, if you use the devx *tgz version not the sfs http://puppy2.org/slaxer/412-devx-i486-2.tgz
you can just
install http://puppy2.org/slaxer/cmake-2.6.4-i486-2-slxr.tgz
and easily update the compiler

Yeah. About 50 kg lighter and younger than I'd imagined. But what the heck, I'm still using Slaxer despite Barry's latest and best. It "just works".
Thanks, Joe. Thanks very much.

Hey Joe
I thought you may have retained some of the geetar looks...
[Go on... if you won't post pics of the garage band days what about clips?]
Thanks for all your work on Slaxer_Pup... it's still my main system, I do any gimping there and my accounts and stuff, plus some games too, all my HW works beautifully.
Cheers
Mick

Hey Micko
rock/blues /country for guitar
I also love the piano
I was very blessed to see my favorite player " Raul di Blasio"
in concert Friday night here in Mexico
seeing him play piano live is something I will never forget
just a few of the songs : corazón de Niño, Penélope, Balada para Adelina

Clex
cli file manager
http://puppy2.org/slaxer/clex-4.5-i486-2-slxr.tgz
what the *#&! is it ?
http://www.clex.sk/download/
I had to make the menu Icons and I added separate help docs
which made it larger but worth the weight
In Menu>Filesystem best to try this first
of course you could also do rescue work exit out of X
Menu>shutdown >exit to prompt
then type
*first run it auto sets up a config file you just say yes to the questions
news flash slitaz packages can be installed on puppy

big_bass,
I have tried your current .iso on the Dell Mini-9 I tested with very early on in this thread and it works wonderfully -- except for the sound, which is lacking. Upgrading Alsa to Patriot's newer 3-in-1 version (see Hardware / Audio section of this forum) when using the previous kernel fixed sound on that machine -- using earlier Puppies, of course. I would be willing to bet that offering an upgraded Alsa with your newer kernel would restore out-of-the-box sound for hda-intel devices like mine.
(An individual work-around is to add a line to the /etc/modprobe.conf file which directs the system back to the machine-specific BIOS parameters.)
But sound issues aside -- I am really impressed with your work on this one! It would take the remainder of the page to list all of the things I like about slaxer_pup 412!
Thank you!
-Roy

Hey Roy
Thanks for the post
It's good to hear what works and what doesnt
to fine tune things
I 'll work on getting the alsa updated if that helps more people
Joe
