Gimp to Photoshop
I know some (like Ian) use the Gimp - Ok this is set up for the Mac
but soon someone will compile for the PC - it makes Gimp interface more like Photoshop

I've used GIMP on Win platforms before - it's powerful alright but the interface (specifically the menus) seem difficult to navigate/control to me.
That said I detest Photoshop's bloat - personally I still use Paintshop Pro 5.0 (!!!) to edit images that appear in our local and national newspaper ads (and they get put together in OpenOffice draw!).

I have a copy of Macromedia Fireworks that I got from my uncle that I use for graphics. I tried Gimp too, but didn't like it very much. Its setup just doesn't mesh very well with me. I keep it anyway just incase I need it, though. But mostly I tend to work with small graphics, which MS Paint and Fireworks handle just fine. IDraw3 (I think that's what it was) also comes in handy sometimes. _________________ Between depriving a man of one hour from his life and depriving him of his life there exists only a difference of degree. --Muad'Dib
