understanding Windows has a registry
what ever you do from linux wont modify that registry directly

deleting files from linux is easy but
if your Windows system was compromised by a virus
and system files were corrupted

linux wont help you fix that

but you can save personal data from any linux live CD
or any puppy version

If I tell you more I will have to charge you I only give free linux help 8)
thats how I make money

free tip :There are many hoops you'll need to jump through
in the end the fastest solution is save your personal data then re install
then run the anti virus on your saved data

then switch to Linux if you want free help

I did'nt want this for myself. I am the computer tech for the small school I work for. I have tried to convince people to switch to Linux but they must have their Windows. I am asked a lot to put anti virus on a computer or look at somebody's crashed or slow running system. There are some live cd's with Bart's PE running win xp that are used for system recovery or repair. With puppy being so small and having very good hardware detection it was just a thought.

since your a tech I will tell ya more  barts pe when you need to do registry fixes
and general tool like scandisk also for recovery for bad sectors
and a few more nice tools there I use I also add some registry hacks to rebuild what I need to depending on the problem
at hand

and once you get more comfortable with puppy
you can even write your own "antivirus" I had to do that a few times to clean up some usb drives with alot of games on them for a customer but its time consuming and you deserve fair payment

since there wasnt a OS
to worry about you can easily clean up the mess after studying what the virus did to the system

I cut you short on the fist post because I will not go into detail
with those matters for windows I hope you can understand . cleaning windows
100% wont happen every file is indexed

if you have a linux question fire away
