A few days ago I found a Tux avatar dressed as a wizard so I built a animated background with it.Check out the Wizard Tux as he appears and disappears around Hobbiton in LOTR01.edj on my page at macpup.org

I have updated the init splash screens and made a second LOTR baclground with more LOTR Tux caricatures .

To install stuff open rox, click on the eye in the tool bar to see hidden files. Then go to .e/e/ .The start up stuff goes in .e/e/init .Backgrounds go in .e/e/backgrounds. The Megan-fox.edj and the test2.edj go in .e/e/themes

new version of e17

#22 Post by runtt21 »

This is a first look at the new version of e17(.060) that came out two days ago.It has several issues that (.050) didn't . But it is a major change from that version. It now has a first run set up wizard to set up e17 to your computer. I dont know if we will release a pup with it . I expect that they will release an update of this one soon.

This is the default look/theme I only did the icons on ibar.

Reboot problem

#24 Post by puppyiso »

runtt21, My computer also has a problem when log out.

It's Toshiba 2GB RAM and plenty of HD space. But it stays forever when I log out.

Have you found any solution besides using xvesa?

This pup was built on a Toshiba with 2 gb of ram running xvesa.Xorg wont touch my video card. I have no problems at all using the macpup shutdown menu on the desktop. The e17 menu shutdown options dont work( I have heard from several people who have said they worked for them but i have no idea why). It makes no difference at all to the look or performance of foxy running xorg or xvesa. I run it in xorg on my HP desktop and have no issues what so ever.

What do you mean by " log out " are you shutting the computer down or rebooting?

The only thing I can tell you to try if you cant do xvesa is to go over to /usr/X11R/bin/wmreboot and delete line 5 .

aplay /usr/share/audio/exit.wav

That is the only thing that has been added to the file.

It turned out to be a hardware problem. Other puppies which had no problem before now have the same problem.

Thank you for your help.

desktop change fix

#31 Post by runtt21 »

I have heard from a few people about the desktop changes that happen when you hang a window off the edge of the screen or hit the edge with the mouse.

To fix this go to menu/configuration/config panel/screen/Virtual Desktops then un check the flip desktops when mouse at screen edge , then click apply.

The next e17 macpup will use the new version of e17 and you can set the edge binding to do lots of different stuff.

No frills foxy?

#32 Post by ljoe »

Hey thanks heaps for the best distro Iv fount to date its AWESOME. Im running it on an old usb stick, hitching up and down the coast plugging in and blissing out with my very own os where ever i stop on what ever hardware I happen to hijack.

Man it looks to tasty, Im worried what will happen when i come across someone with gear as antiquated as what I have at home? *stairs down the compaq just spotted over in the corner of old mates flat*

So

# Can any one recommend a no frills theme for Macpup Foxy E17

Or

# Drop a few hints that would lead me towards turning off some more of the flashier features (animated menus with light effects)

ta kids

Dude , sorry but no , that defeats the purpose of running e17, You might try Foxy 2.0 or one of our other macpup that dont have e17.
