How to get Netgear wg511v2 wireless card to work?

#1 Post by Nixon »

I am trying to set up a Netgear wg511v2 for puppy. I know this appears to be a difficult one to do. I'm trying to figure this out on my own, but Idon't think I'm doing anything right. What exactly do I need to download? Do I need to download it off a cd or the internet or either. I tried downloading off the internet, but I'm not sure how to open the file. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
The system is a Dell LS Pentium III 256 RAM. I'm using a puppy off a USB until I get my new HDD in the mail .

Should not be a problem.
What exact version of Puppy?

More exact specs help too.
Is it similar to this?

I got me one of those. You beaut "Marvell" chipset. No native Linux support (well not up to scratch, project seems to be abandonned).

It works just fine with ndiswrapper and any windows driver you can find for it. I suggest the latest XP though, follow link in previous post by cthisbear, I tried many, and they all worked. You need the '.inf' file and the sis? or is it cat? Can't remember, but it is one of those.

I had it up and runing on my old lappy quickly.
