Sub_title: to give it long batttery life.

A standard Notebook that has the battery life of a Net Book when used in a reduced power mode.

I am not sure it is possible. Puppy now runs in only one core of a multi core processor: Does that save any power?

Can one reduce the amount of RAM that eats power from inside Linux?

Can one circumvent the optical drive, maybe the hard drive and use only a USB flash drive. And will this save power?

Can one easily access the controls for the display screen from inside Linux?
