Installed both. Alsaplayer choppy.

Aqualung looks good and sounds good.

how do i tune in?

#32 Post by bones01 »

I'm using ChoicePup and d/l jrb's version of Streamtuner+alsaplayer. The default stations work well, and I have no complaints with the sound quality, although I have only tried it with an old laptop.

However, when I try to stream from a website/radio of my choice, I have no luck. I've endeavoured to save the url address of the stream, but have either misunderstood what is needed, or am completely wrong.

www.pbsfm.org.au is one of the main stations I'm trying to get.

Any ideas or corrections would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Trapster and tttuxxx. Tried both but had no luck with either of them.

when I try, alsplayer starts up, but I get a 'no stream' message in the box.

any other suggestions?

Bones,
I wasn't able to get http://www.pbsfm.org.au/public/playerVer/player.asp or mms://srv1.mel.apstream.net/pbsfm or http:\/\/www.pbsfm.org.au\/public\/ASX\/3pbsfm.asx to play in streamtuner. I wonder if it can handle these windows based streams?

I am able to get http:\/\/www.pbsfm.org.au\/public\/ASX\/3pbsfm.asx to play in Gxine.

Also able to open mms://srv1.mel.aptstream.net/pbsfm and http:\/\/www.pbsfm.org.au\/public\/ASX\/3pbsfm.asx in vlc.

If I have Gxine loaded I can open http://www.pbsfm.org.au/public/playerVer/player.asp in Opera and it plays throught the Gxine plugin.

Hope that helps, J

thanks jrb. I don't like gxine much and don't have it on my choicepup. Will try with vlc and see if I have any luck there.
