Ok uninstall the first package and install the newer one I have posted above, it has the missing updated lib, thats why your scanner wasn't working because of it
Now it should work, report if anything else is missing

the newest one is the one I made for Wary, may not work on other puppy versions, you might have to make system links in other puppy versions.

I noticed Audacious in your collection.

I find that mp3splt works well with Audacious to split mp3 files.
