Suggestion: A MAME inspired puplet

#1 Post by wedge22 »

I really want to use my old laptop with Puppy and MAME so I can make a cheap and cheerful gaming coffee table thingy. I have tried to install mame in Puppy but I am having no luck finding it anywhere or getting it to work. I think a mame version would be great, plus it could have alot of Linux games on it too.

Without rom files MAME is pretty useless.
There are however thousands of game roms floating around in the ether
Although most of them are abandonware, I don't know of any GPL'd ones.
So... although it is possible to make a MAME puplet, there is not much to be gained over just a MAME pet package due to copyrights.
