documentation and crediting?

#1 Post by nycjeff »

I'm working on a puppy derivative.
I'm wondering if it is cool if I take documentation from here:
http://www.puppylinux.org/manuals/puppy ... stallation

and modify it slightly and include it in my derivative.
Also, do I need to maintain any of the puppy logos etc to make it legal?

Thanks.

Barry tells us about that sort of stuff at http://puppylinux.com/faq.htm

But the "manual" is written by someone else, so you should check with them about taking documentation from it - IIRC they did talk somewhere about reusing it. I'm pretty sure it is essentially "open documentation", but you should check.
Do you know a good gtkdialog program? Please post a link here

read through the various files in /usr/share/doc for more info

one that I know of is the flash player logo that must be included... although I think the one that is included is actually outdated
Check out my github repositories. I may eventually get around to updating my blogspot.
