If you want to see the lyrics for the song you're listening to, you might be interested in this script. It's a frontend for David Precious' Lyrics::Fetcher CPAN Module, that outputs the lyrics to a pager of your choice.
The dependencies:

I think you need to repackage moc-lyrics-i486.pet currently the .moc directory is located in / rather than /root/
once it is installed
restart mocp
highlight a track
press F9

Once you have the lyrics working you can also use the lyrics fetcher script in shell-fm. I have the following line in my shell-fm.rcwhen I hit o the lyrics fetcher script is run.
