BrowserLinux 200908

#1 Post by osnh »

I have tested several Puppy derivates with a nine year old Laptop with 750 MHZ CPU and 256 MB RAM.
Browserlinux 200809 is the fastest i have ever tested.
The BIOS start takes 50 seconds, the start of Browserlinux need only 45 seconds, with wlan connect (with WPA, it made no problems)
I tryed WinXP on this machine, for the boot it needed 5 minutes.

I added Java runtime (jre1.6.0_11.pet) the VLC Player (vlc-9.9.aV3-i686.pet)
and Mediathek_mit_lib_1.1.0. So I have a Mediathek with more then 5000 pictures from the german public television. This pictures run soft without stops.

To the Software from the homepage i added tonicpoint.pet to read powerpointfiles.

Why need people Hardware with dualprocessors and 4 GB RAM????

Best wishes for the Browserpuppyteam

VLC make no problem. why do you need amarok? Pleas use the vlc-0.9.9aV3-i686.pet (40 MB,but I think you have no space problems http://cid-da097326680e08e6.skydrive.li ... 3-i686.pet) This player has all the codec you need.
For Transmission you can get information here http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=38969. Save the *sfs-file an install the pet.
