Those are cool backgrounds. I am reading a gimp book in hopes of doing similar pictures!

Which one, Grokking the Gimp? Is that helpful? I've just never gotten around to it...that's probably the next phase.

I haven't done much creative arts lately but cm1967 its not all that hard, What you have to do is install gimp, open a blank page say 1024x768 and have some fun :)
Gimp you can get http://puppylinux.ca/tpp/ttuuxxx/progra ... .0-rc3.pet
and with a little luck you can also create nice images also, These are a few a did about 1 year ago http://www.ttuuxxx.com/puppy/indexbackground.html
The moon image I took during a eclipse, That was the actual colour :)

Yes, Grokking the Gimp from our library. The NASA site has some cool pictures, I just placed them on a black background for a start.

Nice! All three!

Ok, included in the mix, do we have any screenshots out there of any of these Puppy wallpapers put into effect? Icons/jwm/icewm-themes applied, etc? I'll see what I can come up with too...

Oh, and ttuuxxx, there is a gimp 2.6 thread out there too; I had to add that one to one of my remasters; it's got a couple additions/changes that I like a lot better than 2.4.

Steve I have 2.6 but just one thing about it its over 3 times the size of 2.4, now do really do think that a couple of new addons are worth going from 5mb to 15 MB or 24MB? Thats why I recommend 2.4 at 5 mb you can't beat it:)

I tried to pm you, J-bob, but it seems the forum is updating itself or something, so I couldn't get it to go...I'll either try later or please pm me...I would love to be added as a contributor, so please tell me what else you need from me...

Ok, on another somewhat related topic, I am wondering if anyone has done anything with (I asked this question in another thread, so please forgive me) a tux avatar (like the one I use) that has been modified or Puppy use...I've searched and I couldn't find one that was puppy-ish...wanted to use it in wallpapers and such. Anyone made one?

The forum might be updating, But i think it's likely to be that the forum has become slow recently, for some people. And while Murga does a good job maintaining such an essential piece of the community. Maybe some people should help even the load. So if you or anyone else wanted to, I could help setup a small forum on my hosting site, and use that as a small forum for the community.

And I'll add you into the art section. If that does not exist, I'll make it, And I'll have you or ttuuxxx lead it, But ttuuxxx seems to have left the project.

That's okay. As even if there was one, The forum is usually tough to navigate through sometimes.

But I have the gimp, and I might be able to make a Puppified Tux. And i think someone uses one as their icon on this forum.

I'll probably PM you when the alternate forum is setup so you can create an account there, since it hopefully will help even the load on Murga's server. And it should be faster.

This one's made in mtpaint, it's 640x480 but it looks nice when stretched.

Ok, just because Puppy Linux needs its own Tux style avatar, I went ahead and did one.

It's my first tux avatar to ever do from scratch, so be gentle. 8)

I think it came out pretty good, if I do say so...well, as good as a dog trying to look like a penguin (or vise versa?) can look...

Attached is a large detailed png plus a smaller gif..this jpg doesn't do it justice...Image
