PostPosted: Wed 19 Nov 2008, 22:52    Post subject:  how to change 'ls' colors
Subject description: I can't read bright green on bright white

The output of the 'ls' command is by default color coded.
I need to change the light green especially to a color I can
read.

man ls points to a command DIRCOLORS and an env variable
LS_COLORS but neither are available (I'm using PL 4.1)

How then do I go about setting my own choice of colors?

Thanks.

If you're satisfied with black on white, you can do this:

ls --color=never [directory path]

This I got from "man ls" (ls man page); I tried it with rxvt and it worked. If you want prettier colors . . . I guess you'll have to track down a copy of the "dircolors" utility, which doesn't appear to come with Puppy.
