Can you post it as a separate thread on the forum? Or under the 4.1.1 bug reports thread?

Macpup does not change anything with pplog.

Try entering at bootup the command IDE=NODMA

That's how I got MacPup to work on my Dell Inspiron.

Is it any way to have Macpup from puppy 4.11 REGULAR (NOT RETRO)?

It seems that something is not working for me in Macpup (it doesn' t boot)

Puppy 4.11 (not retro) works OK in my hardware.

I' ve tried to boot using the "initrd" and "vmlinuz" from the regular Puppy 4.11 and loading the "macpup" .sfs . It boots, but the USB mouse is not detected, even if I choose it manually. Actually it could be that the USB port is not detected at all (I didn't tested yet)

I' ve also tried to update from puppy 4.05 to macpup4.11 , but it keeps my old desktop theme and icons

Any idea? Can I remaster a Macpup from the regular puppy 4.11 ?

Thanks

fernan

Fernan, the next version of macpup foxy (2.0) is based on the regular 4.1.1 we are putting the finishing touches on it now and it will be up in a week or two.It will have all the regular 4.1.1 apps plus Vlc with custom skins, firefox, audacity, gimp and custom icewm themes and gtk2 themes.

@fernan:
Macpup Foxy would be an excellent option for you as it has several popular packages and macpup and it will be built on the regular Puppy 4.1.1 (and not retro).

Another solution would be to boot Puppy 4.1.1 regular and download and install Macgic.J from the Macpup website and use it to transform Puppy into Macpup. This will give you the earlier look of Macpup, but you will be on the latest kernel and version of Puppy.

prithish,

This is awesome work and even nicer than 4.00.
One thing I noticed is that there is still history in
Firefox. Are you the Hanna Montana lover? Cool

Thanks qaz.

I usually don't browse during the remaster creation. I am not sure how this got there. If I know who Hanna Montana is, it would help. Smile

Thanks Max Headroom.

You can just edit /usr/local/bin/defaultbrowser file and change seamonkey to opera.
