BROffice (Open Office in Brazilian Portuguese) for Puppy.

#1 Post by steve-in-brazil »

I thought this might deserve its own thread.

BRoffice SFS available... PET still needed.

First
thanks dingo for compiling an sfs file of BROffice.
Dingo wrote:"steve-in-brazil" I really want to install the open office suite on this 4.20 full install puppy, so that we can do the office things we need, but I am here in Brazil and we want to use the official brazilian portuguese version of open office. It's called BRoffice.

"Dingo" I have just made an sfs pack of Br-office, you can test to see how it works

you can download here

Second thanks to coolpup who provided some help via private message.

Finally

I've got this installed, somewhat by copying the uncompressed folders of the sfs folders and putting shortcuts on the pinboard. It is working, but there are some things I still need to do. ( Perhaps a working PET would install it completely, but running dir2pet gave me a pet package that would not load properly.)

Questions:
1. How can I make this my default word processor, instead of Abi?
2. How can I add this to the menu?
3. Where can I find some more attractive icons for the pinboard, other than the ones that came in the package?

Thanks.

Would it be possible for someone to make this into a pet that would work for an HD full install. I've got the sfs opening and working, but not really "installed" Seems like I can extract the sfs files even to folders on a pen drive and it works when mounted, if open the folders and click on the soffice icon.

Anyone who can make a pet that will install on the menu and/or make icons would be a hero for the brazilians.

The broffice pet:

File name: (nome do arquivo)
broffice-300m15 ***EDIT: I have not been sucessful with this pet, yet.***
it is a 143MB download.

Login/Password = puppy/linux

After my trip, when I get back to brazil, I think Iam going to work on helping puppy be portuguese friendly (a puplet). Hopefully I will have the time. I have a lot to learn.

Como instalo um arquivo .sfs

#6 Post by isabelgobbo »
