Yes,

1. Make a localisation Puppy (very important).

2. Add hot programs, games, dictionary, ... .

3. Sent Info to all websites, forums, magazines, computer news, .... schools, teachers, students,.... CD shops, friends, .... more and more ...

We have a problem :(

The ISO hacao_060114.iso was requested 13162 times.
hacao.iso 3417 times.
Yesterday, there were 45 Gigabyte traffic (usually I have 3-8 Gigabyte/Day).
Today, again 15 Gigabyte.

This has lead to a server-overload, and I was informed by my administrator, that I am not allowed to produce such overloads, or dotpups.de will be deactivated completely.

I will deactivate the Iso for some days, please use Ted Dogs and Babbs Mirrors instead:

ftp://puppyfiles.us/pub/releases/vietnamese/
http://people.vnoss.org/pub/hacao/
http://www.puptrix.org/hacao.iso
http://www.puptrix.org/hacao_devel_060114.iso
http://www.hted.com/hacao.iso
http://www.hted.com/hacao_devel_060114.iso

I am really sorry...

Hacao, I have edited your homepage, feel free to modify it as you like.
I could not look for a nice layout

I renamed the ISOs, and wrote messages to Ted Dog and Babbs to mirror them.

Thanks to all those guys who quickly helped out :-)

I think I will have to make some thoughts about hosting isos.
Such peaks could run me in serious problems.
I think I will concentrate dotpups.de on Dotpups/tgz/pet in future.
And homepages.
So hacao could keep his homepage, but upload new isos on babbs server.
At least as long as those mirrors don't get in trouble becauseofhigh traffic.

Stay frisky

8)

Once again a solution arises. Thanks to teddog and babbs.

:)

I was worried about this sort of thing and decided NOT to host any Puppy files until I had a bit of server hosting experience.
Maybe I should just dive in?
I think I will concentrate on hosting (or mirroring) Puppy2
- from the first beta

ISO hosting is likely to be our main bandwidth hog
rather than pointing to an ISO image
Is it possible to point to a piece of maybe php code which tests the speeds of available hosts, finds the fastest and downloads from there?
The same code might also offer to use P2P?

What happens when Hacao is translated into Chinese? China is the number 2 Internet user and it has barely begun . . .

This is an issue for the Foundations next meeting
(can someone add that - I have no direct links at the moment)

I reported this as a news item on the wiki and really it is a good thing that we are gaining popularity. I am sure other Linux are also noticing considerable growth and interest?

Stay frisky

Maybe we need to think about BitTorrent? (My guess is that most people downloading Puppy for the first time won't have it or won't know how to use it.)

Just let me know if someone wants me to add (and seed) a torrent to our official torrent tracker. I'm not sure what the differences are between the files or how to describe them.
