I had that problem on one of the .27's remasters on my regulat pc. My AAO seems fine, on my regular pc it only exibited the problem with my wireless mouse.

when i boot from usb flash i lose wi-fi and external usb mouse.

You will have to edit your syslinux.cfg or grub menu.lst or extlinux.cfg file and add to the kernel line.
So it will look like this
| Code: | | kernel /puppy/vmlinuz psubdir=puppy nosmp pci=noacpi pfix=noram |
That should fix it.

i had to boot from cd to access the pen drive then mount it.
i found the syslinux.conf its right there.so it has a different line
that has no smp
so i added after that pci=noacpi pfix=noram
but i dont think it worked.rebooting
didnt work
line says right now:
default vmlinuz initrd=initrd.gz pmedia=atahd pfix=copy nosmp pci=noacpi pfix=noram

i changed the line to this and now everything works
default vmlinuz initrd=initrd.gz pmedia=atahd pci=noacpi
thanks iscraigh for pointing me in the right place must have been the pfix=copy nosmp that i deleted

Puppy 4.20 Deep Thought on Aspire One Subject description: buford's success |
|
Any chance you could email me with an idiot's guide to how you made 4.20 work? I've recently got myself a bargain of an Aspire One 512MB ram and 120GB HD which is great, but I would like to be able to boot and run from USB from time to time to reduce power consumption and extend the battery life. This would seem to be a good answer, and I'd like to know a bit more about configuring linux the way you clever guys seem to be able to do it - it's double dutch to me just now I'm afraid.
Thanks
