This is a modified Package from Damn Small Linux for testing only.

It is intended for Puppy 1.0.5 only! (might work on older ones, too, but I did not try). On Puppy 1.0.6, it might overwrite system-files.

This version supports LANG.
On a Puppy with LANG set to "de_DE@Euro", it runs with german menues Smile

This version allows to save Excel .xls, but has bugs (see Glizls message further down)
You can install and uninstall it.
After un-installation, the old gnumeric from Puppy still should work.
If not, tell me, then I might add a dotpup, that restores the old one.

If 1.5.2 works ok for you, you can delete /usr/local/bin/gnumeric (the old one) to save space.

I can not guarantee, it really works 100%.
So I suggest, to test it first with a new pup001-file.

Yes it can save to excel file if you created a new file, no problem. But if you will use it to edit an existing excel file and modify its content, it will crash upon saving then no files were actually saved. I think Gnumeric developers are currnetly fixing it. Smile

hm, you're right, this bug still exists in this version Confused
So we will have to wait for Puppy 1.0.7.

Compiling gnumeric is very complex, I don't have all the requires libraries.
It would take hours, to get that working Sad

Greets, Mark
