usr_devx.sfs is not setup for it, only GTK apps.

However, it can be done...
I have done it, but it involves many steps.
You have to get all the source packages, and compile and install, in this order:
qt, libaudiofile, aRts, kdelibs,
libidn, libasound, libogg, libvorbis, --may be able to get these from Vector
kdebase.

...and some of them are fussy about the right config options!

You can't compile it.
KDE consists of thousands of sourcefiles.
KDE is a complex system, so even if you want to run just a very small application, you will need the complete Desktop so that it works.

In the "cutting edge"-Forum Bombayrockers tries to provide a "KDE-runtime".
This is a 80 MB Download.
It is required to run a KDE-program.
It does not include the source and headers needed to compile a program.

So I see no chance for you.

The only thing that might work:
install the test-KDE, and search the web for an executable Binary of your program, that was compiled under similar conditions as the Test-KDE (same compiler, same KDE-Version 3.4.1).

Once KDE is up (no more testing), it will last some days to weeks for people to get comfortable with it. Not just the usage, but also how to get applications easily.

So maybe in 2-3 weeks someone can provide you the application you asked for.

Best will be to ask for it again in 2 weeks :)

This is for Guest above

what i had posted in 'how i got kde .. ' was not working - arts , multimedia were not working

i have made a usr_more.sfs for a more functional version of kde taken from slax. it is available in the cutting edge forums.

I'am running kde3.4.3 in puppy with hd#2 install, multimedia not required by me
puppy has all the media players and the games are working and weather too. The kde 3.4.3 is Slackwares, thanks to bombayrockers first postings of kde.
I have compiled mplayer, gxine 4.9, xmms, .xinelib 1.1.0,xine-ui. I have sound in kde for games, from ice i start ksmserver to switch to kde, just use puppy sound mixer. I had to change the permissions in puppy 1.0.6 bin files. I had to borrow some libs from pc linux, also using Mu's xorg with no problems, rarsa cups version. thanks duke

I would like to have kde in puppy too. I'm not a programer, so i would probably kill my puppy if i tried to compile anything for it.
The truth is out there.

You don't need to compile.
Try the experimental KDEs.

For some people they work, for some not.
Just try it out, and give us feedback :)

Barrys KDE:

Bombayrockers port:

There is a small and a Mega-version.

all of this is work in progress!
