Hi from Perth

I have seen that puppy is capable of being customised into virtually anything. CoolCNC is a great example. Puppy's ability to make hitherto useless junk functional has changed my attitude to computing.

Therefore I would like to get involved in any effort to develop a puppy amateur radio platform.

I feel the best approach is not unlike that taken by digipup, where the puppy concentrates on doing one application really well.

Echolink is a very popular hamradio protocol, and with that in mind I have been attempting to compile qtel and svxlink using devx_400.

If anyone is interested I will relate my experiences thus far and maybe we can work out some of the tricky bits........

I really like fldigi-puppy, its what got me thinking about this.

regrettably the page you refered to appears now to be broken.

seems the euro-mirror link works the rest are 404.

I cant get qtel to compile because of its need for qt.

None of the qtlib pets do the job.

Hi. I'm Christopher. I am using ChurchPup 3.01 Alpha 2 with the pet packages from fldigi installed. There are several of us hams here. I'm a member of the Flying Pigs QRP club. I am presently restoring a Patterson AllWave Receiver that I plan to couple to an Eico 722 transmitter. I use the logging programs for tracking all my contacts. Of course a good ham keeps a paper log too, never know when that computer hard drive is going to die.

I have fldigi installed on a compaq presario. However it isn't set up right now. I was going to reformat the drive and switch it to churchpup for a church kiosk, then I was excommunicated from that church. So now I've got a spare computer taking up space. Not sure what to do with it yet. Perhaps I will set it up as a morse coder/decoder once I've fixed the two radios.

The digipup page loads ok but all the links except euromirror go to this message:

anyway the reason I started this thread was to get puppy to do more ham tricks, like echolink.
other good projects would be a gnuradio puppy, a linradio puppy, a dstar puppy even, and ax25puppy

DV Dongle Installation
DVDongle - Installing on Linux

‣Drivers for the FTDI USB chip used by the DV Dongle are included in most Linux distributions. Install the Sun Java Runtime (JRE) 6 from http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp and make sure that this version is selected in your PATH environment variable. Once installed, plug in the DV Dongle and download the DVTool tarball at http://www.dvdongle.com/downloads/DVTool-dist.tgz and extract to your Desktop. Run dvtool.sh to start the DVTool application. Note that some distributions like Ubuntu include an accessibility package called brltty that must be uninstalled before DV Dongle use.

aprs is now the easiest way to do ARISS and sats.

We would need predict, soundmodem, ax25-tools, aprsdigi, aprsd, and some maps........
