Blender

#1 Post by aragon »

Home: http://www.blender.org/
Version: 2.47 Static MesaGL version, Python 2.5

Code: Select all

Blender is the free open source 3D content creation suite, available for all major operating systems under the GNU General Public License.
Made as an Sfs-Module. It contains all requirements for Dingo (4.00).

These are:
- python 2.5
- libalut
- libopenal
- libSDL

Download is here: http://puppylinux.ca/tpp/aragon/ (~ 20 MB).

Zip-File contains the sfs and the checksum.

sfs-usage (from: http://www.puppylinux.com/development/p ... gement.htm):
Download any SFS file to /mnt/home (the same place as your "pup_save" personal storage file), run the BootManager (in the System menu) to select or deselect what SFS files you want to use, reboot Puppy and its ready to go.
For usage of blender, please don't ask me!

Thanks to Chinook.

cheers

Well, you made a package, sometimes it lasts a little longer, you load it up, you're ready.

than you check something on the project-homepage. What's that? A new version!

So i made a new sfs with blender 2.48. It's at http://puppylinux.ca/tpp/aragon/ too.

Anything else, see first post.

cheers

Thank you so much for compiling Blender for Puppy. Blender is an awesome tool, and my explorations of it have barely scratched the surface. It really makes me take heart when there are such wonderful applications out there for Puppy - Blender, Gimp, Open Office, SecondLife, Pidgin, Opera, etcetera.

I found that I am able to use your sfs file on the latest version of Puppy by simply renaming it with a 411 suffix.

One note about a glitch which you should know about... when using this package in xfce with compiz on, there is a problem where the whole gui is halfway transparent. I don't know if you know how to fix this, and having attempted to walk through the process of compiling Blender myself, I wouldn't expect you to worry yourself about it. But I just thought you should know.

transparent fix

To get rid of the halfway transparent effect in compiz use CCSM, activate window rules and set the No ARGB visuals to name=Blender.

Wow, thanks! I'm sure my daughter, an avid Blender user, will be very pleased to get a new remastered Puppy live-CD that includes Blender!

Thanks, Aragon.

That's what the internet is all about. Timeless, spaceless.

I am using v431. Hope it works.
